FAQ’s, Terms & Conditions

Due to full schedules, we've had lots of "no shows" for local pick (If this is you, we get it!) Leaving as small of a footprint as we can and also saving my customers money is super important to us. Therefore, our policy going forward will be to charge for shipping but still offer a local pick up option (when we're available to do so) that refunds shipping at time of pick up.

We go to great lengths to sell high quality, correctly labeled products. If you find your bulbs, roots or corms arrive damaged or are not satisfied with your purchase, please reach out to us within 48 hours of product arrival in order for a refund to be issued. In some cases, a photo may be required. This guarantee is limited to the purchase price of the product only. The Dahlia House is not responsible for any product damage caused by being left in shipping packaging or poor handling. If you do not plan to plant your product immediately, please see our Growing Guides for proper storing conditions. The Dahlia House is not liable for poor garden conditions or damages caused by crop failure.
Due to the fact The Dahlia House cannot control Mother Nature or poor stock production, we reserve the right to cancel any item at any time before shipment. You will receive a full refund for any canceled item.
A Note on Dahlia Tubers: The Dahlia House guarantees our tubers are correctly labeled with at least one visible eye. If you find your tuber was mislabeled you can send a picture to us no later than August 1st of the current growing year to receive a full refund for your mislabeled tuber.
Our tubers are shipped early to mid-April to avoid freezing during shipment. The tubers will be packed in wood shavings or vermiculite for protection and insulation. We are not liable for freezing during shipping,
Tubers should be unpacked and put in a cool, dark and undisturbed area if they are not going to be immediately planted. Your tubers should be planted immediately after your last frost date.

This is a straightforward question with a very complicated answer. Sometimes it’s easy to tell that a dahlia tuber is diseased but, in some cases, the disease doesn’t present itself until the tuber is planted and begins to grow. Some diseases are spread via insects & some through contaminated water and/or soil. If you are at all concerned that a tuber might be diseased, you can plant them in their own pot (preferably on solid surface that can be disinfected) to keep them isolated from your other plants.
There is a ton of information both locally and online regarding dahlia tuber disease. I recommend reaching out to your local garden extension service office. Many areas also have local Dahlia Societies with experts that are happy to help. @dahliasplease, one of my favorite instagram accounts, did a series of posts on viruses in dahlias that is also super helpful.

We are a small operation and set aside specific packing/shipping days. Because of this we cannot ship early or adjust our shipping dates. We are not liable for poor handling. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns. However, if you experience any issues, please reach out to us within 48 hrs of product arrival. See refund policy for more information.
